In this lesson I’ll talk about some facts about C programming language.

 

•       C was invented to create an operating system named UNIX.

•       C is the successor of CB language which was introduced around 1970.

•       The language was formalized in 1988 by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI).

•       The UNIX OS as totally written in C by 1973.

•       Today C is the most widely used and popular System Programming Language.

•       Most of the state-of-the-art software have been implemented using C.

•       Today’s most popular Linux OS and RBDMS MySQL have been written in C.

•       C is called middle-level programming language.
